I finally found the chocolate chip cookie recipe that rocks my world. It’s chocolate walnut orange chip, but that can all be tweaked as you like. I love orange and chocolate, so I use the zest of an entire navel orange. You can sub in any mix that you love. Just make sure to account for the baking soda and the xanthan gum to give it a cake consistency.

Oh Yeah, Oyamel
May 16th, 2008 · 1 Comment · Restaurants, Washington, D.C.
Oyamel, the upscale Mex destination in Penn Quarter, has gone out of its way to help the gluten-free community. The restaurant serves corn tortillas, so you can munch away on the tableside guac without worrying about flour tortilla chips tainting the meal.

I find myself in the unenviable position of having blogged about most of my favorite bites of the week.
My favorite treat of the week was the Pork Chop Adraki at Rasika. I showed no shame, licking my fingers and fighting for any remaining sauce. All pork should be that lucky.
As an L.A. baby, I can’t [...]

If you call ahead with an allergy, Rasika can basically tailor a gluten-free meal. My dishes were all made without flour — the restaurant even made up some gluten-free naan.

TangySweet Yogurt is Coming
May 11th, 2008 · 3 Comments · Restaurants, Washington, D.C.
I love tart frozen yogurt.
I have been known to travel across Manhattan for some Frogurt at Bloomingdale’s. I love Lord & Taylor’s yogurt and the sweet flow at SweetGreen.
Which is why I am so excited for the upcoming opening of the tart, frozen goodness of TangySweet on P Street at Dupont Circle.
It’s just beneath [...]
