Take Me Out: Gluten-Free Dining at Nationals Stadium

June 22nd, 2008 · 1 Comment · Restaurants, Washington, D.C.

Friday night was the perfect night for a baseball game - my first trip to Nationals’ stadium. It was a long night: a 14-inning game against the Rangers that ended with a rare win by the Nats.
I had stuffed my purse with trail mix, bars and snacks to get me through, but happily I needed [...]

May 20th, 2008 · 4 Comments · Restaurants, Washington, D.C.

Le Pain Quotidien is proud of the bread, using it in salads, alongside the soups, under the cheese, and everywhere else. My theory is that the restaurant downgrades everything else to make the bread that much more appealing.

Oh Yeah, Oyamel

May 16th, 2008 · 1 Comment · Restaurants, Washington, D.C.

Oyamel, the upscale Mex destination in Penn Quarter, has gone out of its way to help the gluten-free community. The restaurant serves corn tortillas, so you can munch away on the tableside guac without worrying about flour tortilla chips tainting the meal.
