Burger Madness

July 2nd, 2008 · No Comments · Los Angeles, Restaurants, Top Eats, Washington, D.C.

It’s been a busy few weeks for me, partly because I’ve been eating a lot.

Sometimes L.A. is Better

June 11th, 2008 · No Comments · Los Angeles, Travel

I’m mostly glad to live in a city with monuments and seasons and Gluten-Freebird brownies (Thanks Buzz!), but I have to admit that sometimes L.A. is better.
I just got back from a visit that included a bunless Dodger Dog and plenty of sun. I’m still full.

Darlington House is a restaurant with multiple Italian concepts. Once it fully opens this week, the restaurant will offer fine dining in a salon-like dining [...]

Shells Incoming

May 6th, 2008 · 2 Comments · Elsewhere, Los Angeles, Nibbles, Restaurants, Washington, D.C.

I go caveman when it comes to soft shells. Give them to me. Now. No pleases or thank yous.
I used to eat tempura-battered crabs as often as possible, but this diagnosis has made me rediscover pure soft shells. So many soft shells are drenched in flour batters, losing all integrity of flavor and texture. The [...]

All I Ever Wanted in a Salad

May 4th, 2008 · 3 Comments · Fruit, Los Angeles, Recipe, Salad

As soon as the weather heats up, my appetite chills. I only want salads for dinner and like them as simple as possible. This, one of my of my favorite salads, has every flavor profile you could possibly yearn for in a salad. The inspiration for this baby comes from 17th Street Cafe on Montana [...]
