Ooey Gooey Pie: Pizza from Lilit Cafe

August 18th, 2008 · No Comments · Pizza, Restaurants, Smackdowns, Uncategorized, Washington, D.C.

I’ve been curious about Lilit CafĂ© for quite a while. The Bethesda restaurant functions as a deli, pizzeria, gelateria and beer/wine store. They also very prominently feature a gluten-free menu.

In the lounge of one of Washington’s best, most highly rated restaurants, I ran into my first case of celiac insensitivity ( I call it Burgergate).
I asked if I [...]

June 2nd, 2008 · 2 Comments · Elsewhere, Restaurants, Uncategorized

Travel back with me to Charlottesville where all eating seems to be much more mindful.
In this installment, we visit Revolutionary Soup. This tiny underground spot serving……soup in all flavors and textures. In true C’ville fashion, the spot features ingredients sourced from local farms (Polyface chicken sound good to anybody else out there?). When you order [...]
